Gord Downie Diagnosed With Terminal Brain Cancer

The Grim Reaper is really out for musicians this year, it's disturbing. I've loved the Tragically Hip for a long time, saw them live 5 or 6 times. Horrific news.

I've seen the hip live. I wasn't so impressed. I think they are pretty boring to be honest. I haven't listened to them in years, though I do have my favorites.

We all die. I'm supposed to care because this guy sang a few songs forever ago?

Sorry for him and his family, but otherwise...not interested.

Cool story bro. If you don't care it's pretty easy to avoid the thread.

Stay classy, troll.
My condolences to Downie's family, friends, and fans.

The Hip have had a huge effect on my life, and there seems to be a song for every roadtrip, break-up, make-up in my teens/twenties. I've learned many of their songs on guitar, and can say that nothing gets a campfire rocking better than a couple of Hip songs.

Hope the tour goes well, I'd love to get out and see them again.

BTW tour dates are out: Toronto has 2 shows at the ACC in mid august with another in hamilton just after.

What's less impressive is the image you are trying to carve out for yourself.
What an absolutely disrespectful post.

Like Ray said, if you don't care, pass by the post.

Always loved the Hips ability to play a slow-groove. Songs like Nuatical Distaster, It's a Good Life if You Don't Weaken, Now the Struggle has a Name, and one of my faves, Giftshop.

He's just sore the Hip never made a song about the disappearance of Chris Phillips.

When we met up in Minny for the draft and you did a couple Hip songs at that open mic it was phenomenal. I'll never forget that.
