Around the League 2018-2019 Edition

McDavid is fine. Or is it that he’s just too good to ruin?

He needs a supporting cast.

McDavid is too hard to ruin but frankly, Edmonton is doing their best to grind him down too. How long until the wear and tear injuries from being played ridiculous amounts of ice time starts up?

he looks more and more defeated with each passing interview where the team loses and he gets three points.

Zeke, hold my hand and tell me we are going to be able to keep Johnsson and Kapanen. I love em both. Is it possible?

Kapanen is just sooooo electrfiying and seemingly capable of scoring the big, big clutch goal, and Johnsson is a seventh rounder that I think all of forum ice has been following and hoping and cheering for, for years. So dramatic to see him having this success.

Heck the poor kid got knocked out in the AHL and we alll thought that was it.

It would be a real gut punch to see these two or one of these two traded, for a RHD imo.

Let Liljegren come up and do something cool. Trade Jake. Or Zaitz, I really don't want to see either of these two guys go, they have gone through way, way too much to get where they are. to see them go. It would really suck.

I am glad to see Muzzin here, I never was a huge Grundstrom fan. I thought he was okay. And a Swede, never can have enough of them. but we got the Muzz now.

The goals Johnsson and Hyman and Kapanen scored in the playoffs last year were pure EPIC, don't want us to lose any of those three if possible.

Zeke, give me one of your best homer squeezes, I don't want either of these two great sub players go.

talbot for stolarz done

i dont understand you philly

Here's your answer (not that it is a good one).

In a move announced early Saturday morning, the Flyers acquired goaltender Cam Talbot from the Edmonton Oilers for goalie Anthony Stolarz.

Talbot, who turns 32 in June, can become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. He is considered a mentor to Flyers rookie goalie Carter Hart. The two worked out together in the Edmonton area during the summer.

“He’s a great guy. He’s the guy I called before my first start just to ask him about pregame jitters and what to expect,” Hart said the other day.

This season, Talbot has appeared in 31 games, making 29 starts. He is 10-15-3 with a 3.36 goals-against average and .893 save percentage.

If it works a hart/talbot tandem for the next 2 or 3 years in philly would provide stable and likely cost effieict goal tending. Hart will likely be "the guy" but not sure if starting him off with 60ish games is a smart move.
