OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

You're in a hospital. The nurse is saying you're going to die. But you still don't believe them that Covid is real. Why even go to the hospital?
family probably takes you, or they call an ambulance, or you think it is something else

....and then you pay extra to engrave " I DIDN'T DIE OF COVID-19" on your tombstone

Shutting down schools sounds a lot easier than it is. What do parents do who are likely already financially strapped and now have to worry about child care on top of that?

Really is no good solution. But I agree, that is likely where we are heading. Moving everything online in the coming months seems inevitable while going back to only essential trips/5 people bubbles. Stock up on the toilet paper and baking items folks!

They should probably take a extra long winter break for school.

The numbers started shooting up as soon as school started.

they need to take a community based approach.

look at the toronto covid maps and it's not hard to see where the problems are. the whole centre strip of the city is currently at about 75 cases per 100k (mean). if you go just east of leaside (83 per 100k) -- thorncillfe is up over 500 cases per 100k. lawrence park (to about dufferin) sits at 100 cases per 100k. keele and lawerence is up over 1000 per 100k. jane and finch is at 500 per 100k. black creek up to 800. in the east end, rouge and malvern are up over 600.

stamp it out in hot spots.

in neighbourhoods where case counts exceed a certain threshold (whatever you set it at)

- increase testing capacity by opening drive through clinics in parking lots, walk-ins at local community centres
- put your contact tracer army to work
- open up beds (hotels, vacant condos, etc.) for infected people to isolate

and that's without digging into any of the socio-economic factors that are driving this.

It's a bit misleading I think. The mouthwash will not cure you of the virus, but it will reduce the spread from carriers who rinse regularly.

I've been adding mouthwash to my artisanal cocktails for years.
