OT: Soccer thread

Apparently they are claiming the VAR official thought the call on the field was a good goal, he checked the replay saw Diaz was onside and told them check completed, call stands. Problem was the call on the field was the goal was offside, so referee thought that VAR was was confirming that the goal was offside.🤬 They are going to have to change how they word their decision to the referee but apparently you can’t count on the VAR official to actually KNOW what the call on the field was.
 
Of all the possible outcomes I was picturing that’s by far the best explanation I could have hoped for….understandable human error, but one that should be easily rectified now to prevent occurring again in the future.

cause reviewing it that quickly, saying it’s offside, and not presenting the line on screen to prove it, would have been vastly more inexcusable….to the point of bordering on seeming intentional.
 


I’m a sucker for this stuff this season, cause it’s all so palpable on the pitch….the love between all the players, especially the likes of Son, Maddison, Sarr, & Bissouma is on display all the time, and their personalities clearly get everyone else into it as well.

Van De Ven acts like he’s in heaven….guy is having a blast since joining, same with Vicario & Udogie…..and Porro. 🤣
 
Udogie gets his first call up for the Azzurri.

DiMarco is the starting left back for now (and he's great), and Biraghi is the backup (he's pretty dang mediocre), but with back to back important qualifiers within 3 days, while the other teams in the group only have one qualifier, there's a decent chance he gets some good run.

I actually have been able to watch all the games on my IPTV so have saved the $ on Fubo. But the camera angle for this game is 🤢

yeah I always get excited to be playing at promoter clubs pitches, then the game starts and I remember it means a shit camera angle, haha.

Hurts today tho with how brilliantly we’ve maneuvered through them….would love to see a nice high angle for some of this surgical passing.
 
Sarr having a heck of a game….him, Udogie and Van de Ven all have the poise of guys ten years their senior, not making their debuts as full time Prem starters. It’s mental.

I’m a broken record, but every game they’ll amaze in some new way, with how crafty they are, or how unfazed they’ll be under pressure.
 
Honestly, this could insanely work in our favor if they now get more adventurous….it is painful that it’s Bissouma in particular, tho.

but damn Yves, that’s moronic as fuck.
