2019-Whenever Misc. Grab Bag Thread

I'm not at all convinced that there's enough money in the area to sustain an MLB team. Especially if a group of owners somehow successfully navigate their way through the ponzi scheme that is landing an MLS team.

To be fair we heard that when the canes came to town…..plus they have a better shot at landing an mlb team then getting a second mls team in nc.

Again, you'll get a ton of transplants attending every time the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, etc are in town. That's a given. And with so many Californians moving this way, the Dodgers, Giants and Angels will draw well too.

Honestly, I’m too old to adopt a new team so even if Dundon pulls this off, I’ll probably turn up in Cardinals gear when the Birds come to town

I am hoping that if this happens, we get an American League team.

Hockey is my favorite sport, but there is no team I am a bigger fan of that my Mets. There is no way I can ever change my allegiance to a Raleigh-based team in the National League like I did with hockey and the Canes.

If any fan should leave an organization its a Mets fan...you poor bastards :p

I wouldn't be able to change baseball allegiances like I did with the Red Wings in hockey because I grew up on Tigers and Cubs games. *However*!! I would never be a dick about it when either team is in town and I'm in the stadium.

I dropped the Rangers for the Canes but kept my Giants, Yankees and Knicks fandom. I wouldn’t drop the Yankees for a MLB team in Raleigh

I would definitely adopt a Raleigh baseball team as my second … to the Mets. I also love me some Durham Bulls baseball but if the price of an MLB team is losing the Bulls, so be it. It was easy for me to switch allegiances from the islanders to the Hurricanes because when I moved from NY to the south there was literally no hockey coverage and no internet so it was impossible to follow an NHL team. But there’s always been baseball coverage here.

I dropped the Cowgirls for the Panthers and the Avalanche for the Canes....I was a Patrick Roy fan mainly because we share a last name lol so I started following colorado and fell in love with Sakic and Forsberg and those old Av Wings games....some real barn burners in that rivalry. Other than that I have always been a Braves and Hornets fan.....I grew up watching Boston with my dad because he is from there. Funny story is that my grandmother was a nanny for Jim RIce. Some of you true baseball fans would know that name. They would stop in NC in the winter on their way from Mass. to Florida and they would always bring me autographed Red Sox stuff....Rice, Yastrzemski. etc...
