OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Do we think they want Graves playing 9-12 minutes for a contender or getting all the time in the world to dominate the G league and they look for a stretch 4 vet?

I'm not sure what our cap situation is. There's a few different ways for it to go depending on when the trade is made official, if Kawhi gets his bonus (I'd imagine that we can find ways to make it worth his while on the extension to waive it), etc.

I find it a little odd they brought back Transmission Davis and he wasnt in this deal. Darko never used him

Yeah I want the special powers that everyone else has that can determine how good a professional sports team will be in 5-7 years.
you don't see any risk in trading multiple unprotected 1st round picks?

people aren't saying it's a dealbreaker, just that it introduces a bit of extra risk in the long-term, that's all.

Wait no I never said trading unprotected first round picks was risk free or that they weren't assets. Panicking about the team possibly being last place or something in 2033 and giving up a top 5 pick? No I don't think that's reasonable to do at all as a fan.

First of all, the further out a pick is, the less value it has, full stop. Granted, yes they'll lose Kawhi by then, so their odds of being bad are a bit higher than they are for next year (but the amount of certainty people have about how good they'll be in those years is weird). So there are forces on both sides of the risk meter that sort of balance things out for me.

There's also legit value in keeping their firsts in the Kawhi years too to help stocking the roster if they hit on those picks, or trade them for assets.

Who cares about the picks. Do we have more picks to trade to further improve the team? Get rid of them all and see what we can do the next couple years.

nothing beats NBA offseason. Crazy crazy stuff every year.
