2024 Draft

Waddell has drafted a forward with his first round pick the last 4 years. I see a pattern.
Per Gord Miller - Tulsky had final say in all hockey ops matters once Dundon took over ownership (drafting, contracts, trades). Waddell’s role was to run business side of ops, ticket sales, media deals, PR / media relations etc

But your point stands w Thrashers, Waddell’s picks were heavily skewed towards F - Braydon Coburn was the only 1st round Dman he drafted iirc

His was due to rigors of NHL hockey a few years into the league - wasnt diagnosed his draft year missing half his draft season…

I agree w LeCoq, drafting 18 yr olds is a low probability move at the best of times, this would be a reckless move at 5OA - its now Demigod or Iginla IMO
I think the Canadiens doctors will look at his medical records, including his MRI images and interpretations of same, and then make a recommendation. Most people fully recover from a herniated disc, including athletes. If they think he’s safe to draft, I’m taking him at 5OA if Demidov is off the board.

I'm taking him regardless 6'3 centres don't grow on trees.

Fortunately Gorton’s also added one of our former Cote St Luc brethren Dr Robert Marx’s practice who was NYR primary practice - they’ve apparently got one of the worlds best spine specialists around according to my Dr cousin.

Marx operated on Dach

Or Senneke.

Cervical spine is a different beast than lumbar. I had surgery for l5-s1 years back. No problems complete recovery. I have similar issues in cervical and its much more complicated. The thickness of lumbar spine makes surgery and recovery much more successful than cervical.

Columbus is going D unless Chicago takes Levshunov, if that happens they'll likely go Demidov now to play with Fantilli. I never saw them as a Lindstrom interested team. Personally, I think they go Dickinson..
Pronman has been so far the best at accurately predicting teams picks and has Columbus going for Lindstrom. The thinking being having a 1-2 combo in the middle of Fantilli and Lindstrom.

Big Dick

Again, it adds more questions than answers with Lindstrom.

I like to gamble, but I don't know if I'm comfortable taking him at 5. Obviously, if the doctors say it's not something to worry about, great, but still.

I'd be more comfortable with Sennecke or Iginla at this point. Iginla's the safer pick, but with apparently less upside. Sennecke's a gamble, but a gamble I can live with.
