Yep, I think that we're at a tipping point regarding "draft capital". It's time to spend some of it on proven quantities before Suzuki gets past his prime. The window is fully open as of next season.

Horvat cap hit is 8.5 for 6 more years. He's 30 now....
His cap hit is somewhat good for what he brings....8.5M will be considered cheap in the next 6 years.
Duchene is 34....but his cap hit is 3M (his numbers are great, so he'll get a pay increase for sure).
Duchene's numbers have been better than Horvat, but maybe it has to do with team around him ?
I think i'd rather give Duchene 8-9M for 3 years, than get Horvat for 6 more years

MD is an elite skater he can easily play at high level for 2-3 more years

Dobsons are harder to find than Barzals. Make a trade for Dobson and sign a UFA 2C like Horvat, Duchene, Bennett, or whoever.
