Fucking McDavid. If he hadn't signed that extension and joined us this year, it would have been epic.

A battle with Florida and both Tkachuks, Marchand, Barkov, Bennett, and Reinhart where we could roll out McDavid, Matty, Tavares, and Nylander, Knies, McKenna, Cowan, with Bob going against his old team, would be maybe the greatest entertainment the sport has ever seen. Although likely again way too early in the postseason, like the second round, but that would be the de facto cup final.

Not sure I’d go that far. Kane is still a good, albeit one-dimensional offensive threat, and I’d love to see us add him instead.

But he’s not a superstar that’d irretrievably tip the balance of power towards Florida. Not amymore. He’d also be another oldster in a Panthers forward group that’s already well on the old and creaky side of things.

He'd be a third liner on Florida and an absolute PP threat. If he signs there cheaply they’d be getting yet another above average bottom six player for depth protection against injury. It’s definitely a case of the rich getting richer.

Remember, this is absolutely a lifestyle destination that young millionaires want and more importantly, their wives want.

Tip the balance of power? I feel it's already way past tipping towards them and this would just add more weight to it.

Could still happen.....shit could go hella sideways for Edmonton and maybe Florida stumbles just a bit out of the gate and the leafs start hot....
Mcdavid could asked to be moved at the deadline. And that's when you trade Stolarz, Reilly, and one of the new guys like Sissons in a package for mcdavid.

Could still do it for werenski too for Knies +
