Fantasy Baseball Rules Changes & Deadlines

Not all unwanted players... you keep 5 unprotected players on your team. Basically you can't have more than 40 players total.
 
Well Cheech again has to fix his roster as Gordon and Chisenhall aren't minor league eligible and he hasn't put Vinne Pestano on his roster so I'm not sure what he's doing with him. Also noticed Sid has added two players on fantrax and updated his unprotected list protecting one of them. Other than that it's just teams having too many unprotected players and not getting down to the 40 man roster.
 
For the draft, are we waiting for March 1 or should we start earlier?

Also, if a team selects an unprotected player from another roster, how will that work exactly? Do they have to drop somebody at the same time? Would it have to be one of their 20 keepers, or could they drop an unprotected guy? Would the guy they just selected then be unprotected?

I figured we would just have the player be dropped by the team he's on and picked up by the team who drafted him. Since this is a draft we'll do on here we'll have the time to do that after every pick. Also I'm sure teams will make the room if they don't have it for MLB players by either dropping guys or moving them around their minor leagues and mlb roster. Speaking of that it would make sense to officially open up the minor league rosters now before the draft so that when teams draft minor leaguers they can easily be put there.

I think Cheech already updated his roster earlier and has dealt with Gordon and Chisenhall appropriately. However, I don't see Pestano on the list so he may have forgotten about him. Good catch.

Yeah, if not sooner then certainly as soon as keeper lists are finalized and the draft begins, minor league rosters would immediately increase from 15 to 25 to accomodate incoming draft picks.

He edited his list and no longer has Chisenhall or Gordon on his prospects list.

I'll ask him about Pestano, probably an oversight.
 
Oh and never mind about Sid, the players he added were his property before he just changed his mind on them, so disregard that.

Those guys were on my roster at the end of the year, so it should be okay, I think? I thought unprotected / dropped players were treated the same when I made my initial list. Made the last minute changes as per Deckie's post. Someone confirm if this is okay.

Yeah that's fine, I didn't realize they were former players for you until I went back in the transaction history. You're all good.
 
Yeah I think that's fair if someone was unsure of the process. As long as you're only picking up guys that you dropped.
 
Speaking of lists, I may have missed something so all teams need to double-check their lists as mentioned previously. I did see that:

1. Mindzeye has 41 players in Fantrax. Needs to drop 1 to match his list.
2. Montana has 41 players in Fantrax. Needs to drop 1 to match his list.
3. JaysCyYoung has 41 players in Fantrax and on his list. Needs to drop 1 guy from both.
4. Cheech has 34 players on his list, 37 in Fantrax. Also Pestano. Needs to get both synchronized.
5. Metalleaf has 8 unprotected players on his list. Needs to be 5.
