Hey Nerds: Blockchain

In fairness you can throw a dart and hit a name that did hundreds of percent if you bought on March lows! One of a kind opportunity.

I was bearish for too long in late March/April but even I found some things worth buying -- Roku at 59, Pton at 19...

and best of all TRUL warrants at $2.20, NOW AT 22

Yup. I wasn't necessarily bullish during March. In fact, I was looking at another 10-15% but I was willing to hold on in the midst of turbulence and kept buying on the way down. Just looking back now, my best bottomed timed buys: 6000 shares of GTII at 5.42 and 3000 shares of TRUL at 8.43. But I bought batches of TRUL at 10 and 9 and GTII from $10 all the way down to $5.42, with increasingly larger lots as she got cheaper. Had a huge huge position of GTII and a large, but not as large position on TRUL at the time. It worked!

I lost a lot before the benefits came of course. I played HSD on the way down (which freed up a LOT of cash for my GTII/TRUL positions) but it wasn't enough to break even or come close really. I took a hit in all of my accounts, not just my longs.

who are we kidding, our best buy was CBII at .08 cents. We thought we were buying a cannabis analytics company but we ended up with tele-health. Now I know how the Wings felt when they drafted Pavel Datsyuk.

In fairness to us, we really liked the CEO so we invested in him, and the guy is a gangster for pivoting from weed to healthcare

100%. That shit was genius. The company itself wasn't growing and looked kind of dead-endy but fuck me they pivoted in a genius way. Management was the reason I originally invested in them and it's the reason I hold them today!

For sure....for my long term holds, I generally listen to or read one substantial interview with the CEO. If I don't think they're sharp, I'm out.

LHS is an example of management with red flags from the start. Any links to Andy Defrancesco and Aphria and I'm out.

In saying that, yes I do have an Aphria position on my RRSP. I bought one day when the Canadian market was closed and it cratered the day before earnings so I put whatever free US cash I had into Aphria. And then it went up like 20% on earnings and I haven't sold since because I'm calling it my Canadian weed market hedge (and it's a small position that I'd need like 100+% gains to be tempted to sell). Just checked and god damn, I'm up 80% on it. That's cool. I still hate them and don't trust their management with a ten foot poll.. And r/weedstocks' obsession with them has always been a huge red flag. Yet here I am, owning them.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised you long term held Apha, but if it works, why not. I tried to get you in VFF.

It's a small position that I got stuck in. I would've preferred vff but it what it is. Could've had both! Too bad.

Also this whole thread is funny:
