Yeah, it's nice. I never really liked navigating the ESPN+ app because the interface was too clunky. This was a part of the resolution of the carriage dispute between YTTV and ABC last year.
They integrated ESPN+ content to YTTV this past month.

Agreed. The ability to quickly go between linear networks and the ESPN+ content is a major upgrade.Yeah, it's nice. I never really liked navigating the ESPN+ app because the interface was too clunky.
Easier to just start watching 30 minutes later and FF through commercials....I usually start watching pregame when the game starts...i havent seen a commercial in a long long time.Filing with the patent office before any of y'all do -- a remote control-type device/interface on which you can press a button to record brief snippet of audio of any commercial you hate from any device, after which it will recognize that audio going forward and send a mute signal to the audio source until that commercial is over. Implementations could include IR emitters, Bluetooth, Phone/tablet/computer apps...
I'm sure that's never been thought of before![]()

I know a couple friends that do that too, which is fine for some... we do like following the GameCenter during the game to keep up with live stats, chatting about the game with out of town family, friends (not to mention game chatter here occasionally)... all that kinda all gets ruined with a non-live watching plan.Easier to just start watching 30 minutes later and FF through commercials....I usually start watching pregame when the game starts...i havent seen a commercial in a long long time.
Yeah, if you do it right you can also skip one or both intermissions. I usually fire up a 7pm game at around 8pm.Easier to just start watching 30 minutes later and FF through commercials....I usually start watching pregame when the game starts...i havent seen a commercial in a long long time.
Yea, 1 hour gets you through commercials and intermissions..Yeah, if you do it right you can also skip one or both intermissions. I usually fire up a 7pm game at around 8pm.
Wait. That one wasn't on ESPN+ for out of market? I thought all the games were available on that one if you were out of market ... other than network games.I am out of market paying $35 a month for ESPN. I was not able to watch that game last night unless I'd pony up an additional $100 plus a month to watch the NHL Network broadcast. I don't get it...
No not all games are available on ESPN+. The only thing I could find for the NHL was if you have a satellite or cable carrier. You could get it on the Roku App for that $100 plus a month to see two or three games. I believe I've used Prime before, or at least I have an account and the Hurricanes are in my favorites. Prom is when I go there it shows the games available on Prime but has a note: Unavailable on Prime in your region. Available on Hurricanes Hockey Network, Monumental Sports what ever that is.Wait. Instead of $100 a month, you could supplement with the Prime monthly sub. It's only $10 or so. That would give you all the games other than the ESPN exclusives and the few games that are network exclusives.

It looks like the only thing available WITHOUT having a TV provider is the ESPN + / Hulu... How obtainable is that or is it even a real thing for out of market streamers? I don't know what ESPN Unlimited is.This will give you everything you need to know...

(Also, Monumental is a regional sports network in the DC area. Think of it as essentially the same thing as HHN, but for the Capitals.)
Cost and confusion of today's TV marketplace aside, that really is a missing usability piece... the old "Last Channel" button on your remote to switch between the last 2 things you're watching, but with functionality/awareness in all the streaming apps (not just OTA/cable/sat which have hard channel numbers) and back and forth across different apps/sources...I want to be able to flip between games during commercial breaks. Not open a new app.
