Leaf Rumours

Considering we have an unblemished record so far for 2013, allay your concerns in that department and worry about how Nonis is going to get himself out of this jam. But, oh, yeah, you are a fan of the Stanley Cup champions. So don't be concerned about anything hockey related either, enjoy a nice sunny day.

Dreger should probably be concerned, MLSE doesn't like reporters divulging the real inner stuff.

They see Franson as the new guy. Phaneuf, is a good player, but he has a bizarre drop out of nowhere ability at bad moment. Rightly or wrongly, upper management blame him, Grabovski(for losing the key faceoff) and Reimer for losing that series to Boston.

They assumed WRONGLY, that they could first get assets for Phaneuf. Then, being a little more desperate, they tried trading him for first and/or second round picks. No go again. Now they cannot even find someone to take him for a bag.

Is he a good player? Yes, most of the time imo. But I have been agonizing over how bad the Leafs are, for a long, long time. And did he totally PUSS out? Absolutely. And is there no worse time to puss out than in the last ten minutes of game seven? Well, not to my knowledge.

Nonis can tell you guys and the press whatever he wants. He has a HUMUNGOUS problem. He has two of our top six players, unsigned, and NOT FUGGING HAPPY AT ALL.

And Carlyle does NOT want to see that Cro-Magnon in a Leaf uniform.

And is Darren Dreger one of my contacts? Not unless he is signed up to one of my newsletters, ,but at least someone with a LOT more knowledge of the inner goings on in MLSE land than anyone here(me included) had the balls to disclose that the leafs despite what LIES Nonis tells the mainstream talking heads, THE LEAFS ARE TRYING TO GET RID OF CRO MAG MAN.

All of these words and you couldn't answer a simple ****ing question.

If Dion Phaneuf is so despised by Leafs brass that they've tried to unload him for a 2nd round pick and failed, they obviously won't be re signing him and will simply let him walk next July, right?

Not sure if this was metioned anywhere, sounds like the Leafs were trying to work some deals to move up in the draft, possibly targetting Domi (along with a boatload of other teams).

“52?,” Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen asked. “No, not for that.” Darcy keeps talking, and Kekalainen says the deal is for Buffalo’s 16th and 38th overall picks. Kekalainen says he will get back to Regier.

“The math says you do that deal,” someone at the Columbus draft table says as he takes another call. Whoever is on the line mentions the 21st pick, which belongs to Toronto. Kekalainen says he has a better deal on the table.

Columbus vice president of hockey operations John Davidson wants to get the potential deal down on paper. Kekalainen says Buffalo is offering the 18th and “possibly” the 38th, but the rookie GM is getting an earlier offer from San Jose confused with what Regier has. The Sharks have the 18th pick. Buffalo has the 16th. Davidson wonders who the Sharks, Sabres, and Leafs are chasing. He guesses Max Domi.

It’s not a mystery for long. The Phoenix Coyotes draft Domi with the 12th pick and, shortly thereafter, the Blue Jackets got a call from the Sabres saying the deal is off. It’s still an assumption that Domi was their man, but it is a pretty solid one. The Blue Jackets draft Swedish center Alexander Wennberg with the 14th pick. Buffalo drafts Nikita Zadorov 16th overall. San Jose and Toronto keep their picks as well.

From the Blue Jackets Draft Video.

The Leafs have no interest at this time, in even having him in the lineup or dressing room THIS year. Do I really need to answer your question about next year? And signing him to some bloated contract?

Cool, so when he not only starts the season with the club, but signs an extension keeping him here until he's 33-35 years old, what will you say then?

This is EXACTLY what drives me to posting angrily here at times. Re-read that over and over again, and tell me how you came to think Dreger was my source?

He called this what? A MONTH AFTER I did? At least? And HE is my contact?? Jeezus man, that is poor Goebbeling, ever for you I still love ya, but you are killing me here. Phaneuf is being peddled like crazy, but you know what? Nonis and his boss upstairs did one heckuva poor job at hiding how desperate they are to get rid of him.

And we STILL have not signed Kadri OR Franson? Hmmmm. Maybe someone on this board is starting to see that its Gauthier all over again here. Ding, Ding.

And YES, we did overpay Bozak so that we might have a shot at re-signing Kessel, who apparently is happy that we did sign his buddy. And might NOT run off to Minnesota, to play in his home state.

I do a little business with a guy who plays hockey four times a week in Minnesota, and he says Minnesota is hockey insane. Not that this is anything new for most here.

lol. ME why even bother? He's only going to make up new shit when that happens. He loves drama.

Hey, if someone wants to claim that they have insider info, have at it, I just want to make sure he's making clear, proveable (or disproveable) predictions. Just for the official record and all.

Now we have another "Joffrey Lupul is going to run the other way screaming because we hired Carlyle" moment to look forward to.

A Phaneuf extension shouldn't be that hard. Just basically tacking on years to his existing deal. Might get a slight raise per year, but nothing that will break the bank.

The tough deals are with guys like Kadri who have entry level deals.
