So what if Dion was solid in other games? Do any of those games matter to businessmen, after what Phaneuf did in game seven? It doesn't matter to dollars and cents guys, and you know what? I am with them, I see something likethat from my highest paid guy, with a C on his sleeve and I don't want him in the organization.

I await, with baited breath for ONE person to be able to answer the salient question. Is Nonis stupid? Or are all the guys who don't believe the obvious truth about the get rid of Phaneuf situation stupid?

Fine Mea Culpa on Lupul and Jake Horton obviously. But how many fuggin calls have I made? Hundreds? Jake Horton was a beauty and that was a scout playing a joke on me and Ihave given him shit for it ever since. He thought it was hilarious, and showed me that there actually is a Jake Horton somewhere.

And tell you what, that Forsberg story is true all the way, Burke also enraged his scouts by taking Rielly after letting everyone think he was taking Forsberg. And taking Forsberg SHOULD have been done. We need forwards in the organization, badly.

Holy shit according to Daren Dreger, Phaneuf has been offered everywhere since the season ended. And blacksheep just posted an eeensy weensy link to it. Hahhaa. Not that I am putting Dreger up on a gondola or anything, but thank god someone has confirmed that this lousy DUD who cost us game seven is being offered everywhere.

May I offer to Zeke and Mindzeye particularly. Get some much better glasses.

We are in a market where, old guys like Gonchar, Streit are getting paid 5-6M a year.

Anyone who doesn't think Phaneuf is worth 6.5M or can't be traded for value at 6.5M, just doesn't know hockey.

RFA's going unsigned late into the summer is common. Happens every year. How common? Well, Pietrangelo, Hodgson, Boedker, Stepan, Henrique...all unsigned. It will take some interesting cap management, but both will be signed. Remember PK Subban, dude who won the Norris this year? Same shit happened with him and Montreal last year.

Absolutely, it's incredibly common to try to pump young player's demands downward on long term deals and if that can't be done, to settle for short term "bridge" deals to give the player more time to prove he's worth the salary demands, and the teams time to manage their cap accordingly.

What you're missing entirely is that Dion was very good in game 7, and only not good on the back end of a ridiculously long shift.

There is nothing untenuous about the Nonis is in. It will take some interesting cap management to get both Kadri & Franson signed, but again, as RFA's they have little leverage and we see this dance end similarly every season, all over the league.

It seems that he gets more unhinged with each sustained outburst. Then he goes quiet for a while, then comes back more unhinged than the last time.
 
Yea.... Phaneuf ain't going nowhere for several reasons 1) He's making $6.5M and most teams are right up against the cap as is, not many teams can afford to take Dion on their payroll 2) Phaneuf is a UFA at the end of this season, we would not get much value in return for him (see the Iginla deal as an example as what we would likely get back) 3) We don't have anyone on the roster to take Phaneuf's spot and play his 25-30 mins against the other teams top players.

Also Teeds you can blame Phaneuf all you want for the collapse, but really lets be honest everyone on that team (not named Bolland or Clarkson) is to blame, Phaneuf is no more or less guilty then the other 22 guys.

these playoffs were literally the first time in his career Franson has received top-4 duty, and of course he was still nowhere near Phaneuf.
