Leafs' Prospect/Marlies Discussion Thread!

I gotta tell you. My tennis coach, was his trainer. And he said this guys body at 28, was totally insane.

Still looks pretty insane to me.

60 fucking 5 habsy and friends.

And the guy was not well for most of his years here.. I tjhink it was the pressure.

Guy. coulda been a bobby...

But friends, Morgan, et al, who want Lillly up today, that at 65, is what a number one D man in the NHL looks like.

Lets not rush Illlly and Sandin is a sardine, no need to rush that guy at all.

Bobby Orr there are no pics of him, with his shirt off, but I can assure you, taking his hand into mine, was laughable.

Guys, we might have a number one in Lilly. But they have to be physical freaks. Genetic mistakes almost.

I think Lilly might have a shot.

For me? and who cares right? I want number one dman or fuggit , a Marincin..

I thinks I get number one d... I tjhink Dubas might actually know what he is doing.

Let the Larry Robinsons bake. My second favourite player of all time. Larry Robinson. Poor guy had to live in Kitchener like me.

Lilly will never ever be an Orr.....
He just needs to be a good skating dman, that can put a pass on a stick and be a defenceman that can read the play and adjust.
Ceci, dermott and sometimes holl seemed to be mesmerized by the puck movement and become stationary.

Have a great day all.

Yep, drunk.

Nobody sober thinks that Preston is funny.

And you are extra funny. But yeah, was at a xmas party.

I would love to see Lilly do in the NHL what he is doing in the AHL now, letting his legs go and skate the puck out of three zones occasionally.

TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS
Grade: A-plus

2018 Grade: A-plus
2016 Grade: A

People will roll their eyes at this grade, but I grade on total talent acquired, not relative to draft slot, and Auston Matthews is a legitimate star No. 1 center, and the clear best player from this draft class. To go with Matthews, the Leafs also picked forward Carl Grundstrom, who I think will be a bottom-six forward for the Kings; goalie Joe Woll, who I think is an NHL goalie; and forwards Yegor Korshkov and Adam Brooks, who I think have quality chances to play games even if not locks. If they get a star plus one or two more players, that’s an excellent class.

Ouch. Bad hips at his age is never good.

Sorokin is possibly looking for a move out of the Islanders organization to a team with a clearer path to being a starter.

No better setup than what we have right now for him to take over the starter role (if he pans out). Dubas should be all over his rights if so

14. A couple of my Russian contacts reached out after last week’s note about Islanders goaltending prospect Ilya Sorokin — who is considering an extension in the KHL. They think he’s trying to force a trade from New York to someplace with a clearer path to start. There would be interest — he’s very talented. We’ll see where this goes.

Sorokin for Woll, Korshkov and a 3rd or 4th or whatever the fuck.

Lou's the type that would love Korshkov. And Woll sucks but there's the replacement.

I dont know the exact details with him and his contract status. Does he still have to come in on a one year ELC or can he sign a deal outright?

I assume it would be similar to Zaitsev and Mikheyiev and he would require a standard one year at 925k which would be ideal with Andersen coming off the books right away

Having the Marlies in the same city, is just super big time advantage for the organization. If I am not mistaken, that was a Burke move. Brilliant move, whoever made the decision.

Believe it was 2005 with JFJ being the GM. Though guessing was above him for that decision.

Hey, give him 300k usd for being a great Marlie. Its the MLSE advantage or whatever they are paying him.

I like having two big guys ahead of him in Engvall and Soup. They may not be overly tough, but they are big and they get in your way.

Too many smurfs spoil the undercurrent of a NHL team. As my man Muzzin demonstrated tonight, the NHL is still wicked Violent. Big guys tends to win most of those battles, save, Timashov, who appears to want to be in the NHL more than anything in the world, and I love watching how bad he wants it.

Timashov, heh, like a mad dog, with some talent. Good guy to starve once in a while, keep him hungry.
