Sure, that's true too. Doesn't meant I'd draft players that only have upside. A few years ago, there was Arthur Kaliyev who scored 50 in the OHL. Wasn't taken before the second round. He's a player that, while there's upside, the upside lies only in the stat sheet and not on the actual impact of the game itself, à la Tomas Tatar & Mike Hoffman. I also have no real interest in players like that, honestly.Upside, ceiling and likely hood to reach a certain level all matters. Also there is too much scrutiny on ranks. Had we drafted Hutson with at 33rd, Beck would not have been available later.
I wouldn't have picked Beck at 62nd even if he was available, so it's a moot point.
I would have had a much happier draft day with Noah Warren @ 33 & Hutson @ 62.
