Les Habitants Prospects Thread

Upside, ceiling and likely hood to reach a certain level all matters. Also there is too much scrutiny on ranks. Had we drafted Hutson with at 33rd, Beck would not have been available later.
Sure, that's true too. Doesn't meant I'd draft players that only have upside. A few years ago, there was Arthur Kaliyev who scored 50 in the OHL. Wasn't taken before the second round. He's a player that, while there's upside, the upside lies only in the stat sheet and not on the actual impact of the game itself, à la Tomas Tatar & Mike Hoffman. I also have no real interest in players like that, honestly.

I wouldn't have picked Beck at 62nd even if he was available, so it's a moot point.

I would have had a much happier draft day with Noah Warren @ 33 & Hutson @ 62.

Watch some kings games. Danault is a big part of the Kings success. A player like him is well worth drafting at 33. Not many players drafted lower than the second round make it.

While his offensive numbers weren't great in his draft year... I think they're decent enough to be a mid-late 2nd. Nice that he has a good overall game.

I agree for the most part though. I'd prefer to swing for the fences every time.

And your team will suck.

BTW, Sean Farrell is set to graduate this spring (only took him 3 years) so he can become a UFA if not signed by August 1, 2023.

Since then.... Oh boy
I don't know about that really

There are several rookies on this club that the old regime drafted.

Harris
Guhle
Xhekaj

To start.

They may have had a decent parting draft. Time will tell.

like Krusty said, Sean graduated early so he can soon sign with any team if the Habs fall asleep (which they won't)

I have no doubt HuGo will sign him. But damn, graduating Harvard in three years is impressive. He must be VERY smart. And I assume his agent will leverage Farrell's pending UFA status to at least get him games with the Habs this season.

they for sure will let him burn year one of his ELC...I'm rooting against Harvard so we can see him play in about a week

I think Beck will surprise people.
Yeah, his numbers are not so bad that it's a given that he will be void of offense in the NHL. There have been plenty of players with that type of draft your numbers who become solid producers in the NHL

I read many articles on the trade and that Peterborough is a tire fire in the dressing room.

Have to hope that's where the drop came from after trade.

It is not an impressive list the decade+ after 2007.

WiFi was not drafted but good on them anyway.
