OT: American Politics

You're conflating several issues into one. Of course Putin is dangerous. Trump isn't dumb, he's an egomaniac which makes him easily manipulated. Putin is a master of manipulation.

Don't mistake my understanding what the game is with not being concerned over Putin. My point was that this would have been done regardless of candidate.

They're trying to sway public opinion through leaks. Ultimately it's on the US to keep their information safe. I'm far more concerned over the information they got that wasn't leaked than the emails that were. If people still believe Clinton's email wasn't hacked they're naive.

You should be bigly concerned about what russias next play is after they got the candidate they wanted into office

33 congressional hearings into benghazi. 8 for emails.

russia interfered with our election? meh, let's move on.

p.s. russia > cia

the president elect believes stories from alex jones and info wars but is not willing to believe the reports of the CIA.

Insane

You conveniently ignore the Nato members who are closest to Russia.... Latvia, Estonia, Slovenia, etc..... Countries we'd be feeding to the wolves if the US is pre-occupied with a major war with china.

You cannot talk about the NATO benchmark of 2 percent will be useless and then ignore all of the other NATO members.

Oh,by the way. Just so you know. Even with US involvement, the plan is that the Baltic states won't last longer than 60 hours. Not without the use of nuclear weapons.

Happy thoughts.

You're such a drama queen.

And yes, Russia won this round. There will be retaliations against them that we'll never hear about.

Donald Trump is willing to listen to Alex Jones and Infowars, but ignores the reports of the CIA when they don't say what he wants to hear.

This is the President Elect.

Reports emerging that Tillerson is Putin's pick, I mean Trump's pick as secretary of state.

Critics have already called into question Tillerson’s ties to Russian president Vladimir Putin.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Tillerson negotiated an energy partnership with Putin in 2011 that the Russian president said could be worth $500 billion.

The following year, Tillerson received the Russian Order of Friendship, one of the highest awards the country bestows upon foreign nationals.

Reuters reported earlier this year that the Exxon Mobil deal with Russia had been put on hold due to sanctions levied against the Kremlin for its annexation of Crimea in 2014. The company has said it intends to resume the deal after sanctions are lifted — a process that Tillerson could help expedite as secretary of State.

UNITED STATES OF RUSSIA

And now the American with the closest ties to Putin, literally, is being widely reported as the new Secretary of State.
He did the same thing with China. He thinks familiarity will soften them up. He's wrong.

Ambassador to China and Secretary of State are not the same thing.

An Ambassador to Russia with a good relationship with Russia I wouldn't have a huge issue with.

Secretary of state is different.

and really no big deal... russia interferes in election... pro russian secretary of state put in place... sanctions against russia in crimea about to be lifted. None of this is related, its all coincidental.
