OT: American Politics

One of two things need to happen and they'll never happen so all you can do is turn security.

1) Russia admits they hacked to favor Trump (even though many of the hacks occurred prior to Trump being nominated).

2) The CIA has definitive proof but can't expose the truth because they got that proof through illicit hacks of their own and can't jeopardize their abilities.

You believe it was done to help Trump, I believe it was done to sow discord. It worked.

no, the cia believes it was done to help trump win.

the cia.

not me.

No, not you. You don't believe it.

:lol

Still missing the bigger picture.

It's the Russians!

Don't you find it hypocritical for a country that constantly meddles in the affairs of other nations to whine and cry when it's done to them? If you're going to live in a glass house get a better ****ing firewall.

And let's be clear here, I don't doubt they did it. What I doubt is their motivation was to help Trump. Their motivation was to sow discord and make people question the system. Create turmoil. You're falling for it hook, line and sinker.

again, I don't really know what to say to that.

you were ripshit about a mysterious private server for the last 5yrs. and now the actual real thing doesn't bug you so much.

Clearly in an election where Trump won by skating by on tight margins in a few key states and winning the electoral college despite getting slaughtered in the popular vote, there is no way that this could have had an effect.... none. Habsy has spoken.

What is it that isn't bothering me exactly?

Where did I ever say it didn't have an effect? You're so intellectually dishonest you're not worth debating.

Clinton should have still beaten a schmuck like Trump and you all know it.

This faux outrage that espionage occurs is so ****ing laughable. Implying that it hasn't happened before or that the US doesn't also do it constantly is also hilarious.

Sure, it would be best if countries stayed the **** out of each other's political business, highly preferred. Will they? We all know they won't.

the fact that russia actively interfered with your most important democratic institution.
Working on the premise that what you say is entirely correct and not conjecture, which it is, how did they actively interfere? By exposing information to the electorate? Is that your assertion? That this true information exposed Clinton enough that people didn't vote for her?

This might explain a lot

If you want to say they worked against Clinton which benefited Trump I could agree. Considering they started this long before Trump got the nomination i don't agree they did it to help him specifically. They would have done it regardless of the GOP nominee.

The Democrats are spinning it to sound like it was done to help Trump socially in attempt to delegitimize.

If the USA is engaged with China, some small european state paying 2% of GDP to their military isn't going to stop them from being run over by Russia.... This is the dumbest justification you've made in the thread and you've made some dumb ones.

Small European country? Like France? Or Germany? Or Italy? Or Spain?

You've made some dumb comments in the past but this takes the cake.

Europe, collectively, trumps russia in every conceivable way. If the actually took care of their militaries properly like they are supposed to Russia would be no threat, even without the help of the Americans.

France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Turkey. Small countries? You must be high.

then certainly you must winder why they're targeting one party and not the other...

You basically said that the Russians didn't change the election; it was all down to Clinton.

Lol. Keep clinging zeke.

It's the Russians not Clinton!

Even if it was all that was exposed was the hypocrisy and underhanded nature of the Democrats. But it's all those damn Ruskies fault!

The leaks didn't come from the CIA, they came from inside Obama's administration. Let the CIA come out on the record about it.

and here saying that we shouldn't blame the russians but the Democrats should take blame for their own screwups.

It's the "to get Trump elected" that's absolutely pure conjecture and truthfully, garbage spewed by Democrats that can't take blame for their own shortcomings.

Sure, I'm the intellectually dishonest one.

They are targeting Clinton. Clearly. What I've been disputing is this narrative the left is trying to create linking Trump with the Russians.

You expect something like the Falklands???? So basically for China to have no push back of any appreciable nature. You don't think they're capable of sinking any US boats, or shutting down major civilian systems and creating major, major levels of havoc and bullshit in CONUS?

Yeah, no wonder you're for this, you have a completely out to lunch view of Chinese resolve and capabilities.
You must not know a lot about the Falklands conflict.

The brits lost ships, lost planes, lost troops. Would a battle of Taiwan be larger in scale, sure, but I expect the same limited operations, and for both nations not to go into a total war setting.

No war since 1939-1945 has been total war, I wouldn't expect one over taiwan to heat up that much.

Talking to you guys is depressing, I'm not sure if you realize this isn't ww3 we are talking about, it's on par with the Korean war.

You basically said that the Russians didn't change the election; it was all down to Clinton.

Except I didn't. I do think Clinton didn't do enough to win a very winnable election regardless.

and here saying that we shouldn't blame the russians but the Democrats should take blame for their own screwups.

You shouldn't blame the Russians for the loss, it's weak sauce.

Sure, I'm the intellectually dishonest one.

Glad we agree.
