OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

Did everyone get the covid shot this year?

Is it much help vs previous years?

Paging Dr @Preston

Trying to determine if it's worth paying the money for it.

I got the disease fairly recently so I'm skipping it. Covid has been shit and hasn't evolved much since last year so it's probably a similarly good match.

what does that mean? If the flu's gonna bad, shouldn't people want to get the flu shot? or are you saying get the flu shot, but not the covid booster?

why not both gif

The flu shot is a bad match for the flu that is circulating this year. It looks like this year the flu gained some mutations that may make the vaccine nearly useless for preventing illness. Doesn't mean you shouldn't get it or that it wouldn't help with severity potentially, but it probably won't be that effective compared to last year, for example.

Whereas covid hasn't really changed much for a long while (which is why it circulated at all-time low levels in 2025). So the vaccine is probably gonna be decent enough.

I read the article and noted all the hype in the first half but it ended by more or less saying not to worry, it likely won’t happen and if it does there are specific measures in place to control it.

at least they get to be in one of those secret societies they're so obsessed with
