OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Yeah, Uncle Dennis and Masai have become "close friends" by all accounts.

The organization has really, really done everything it could in this situation. Load management, went for it at the deadline, first class treatment of the family, etc, etc.

This regime can sleep well if he leaves ...... 100% every box was checked off to retain him

There is one more thing they have to do, actually...and that's keep Ujiri out of the Wizards filthy clutches with a long term lucrative extension.

About that...

...from the owner of the Wizards & Caps, Ted Leonsis:

Leonsis: "Any reports that we have interest in Masai Ujiri as a candidate are simply not true, and we have never planned in any way to ask for permission to speak to him during our process.”

F5 season round up

- Lowry's grandma passed away over the weekend, she apparently did get to see and was aware of Kyle winning his chip though
- Chris Paul has denied any problems in Houston, and Morey provided a pretty exasperated rebuttal of the rumours saying that Harden and CP3 refuse to play together any longer, referencing a group facetime chat a couple of days ago where they spent an hour reviewing free agency plans and players available together
- With that said, Shams is doubling down, claiming that Houston has spoken to other teams and there's no one remotely interested in CP3, even for zero player acquisition cost
- Harrison Barnes is opting out of the last year of his contract, passing up on a 25 million dollar pay day. This has a distinct "Nerlens Noel" feeling for me. Barnes is kind of shit.
- Patron Saint of Canadian baseball, Joe Carter released a public statement telling Kawhi that L.A won't love him like Canada does
- Horford is expected to ring chase. The only contender in need of a centre that I can see is Milwaukee. Toronto (assuming Kawhi & Co stay), Philly, LAL, Houston, Denver...all have high end centres. Maybe Portland?
- Kawhi celebrated his championship by taking his family to Niagara Falls.

Contrary to a Monday report from the Boston Globe that stated that star point guard Kyrie Irving has "essentially ghosted' Boston Celtics officials in recent weeks, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reports that Irving has in fact been communication with the Celtics front office and has actually informed them that he will leave the organization in free agency, likely for the Brooklyn Nets.

Lmao @ Barnes

In a year where near half the league are free agents, no less.

What a dummy.

I'd love to see us pick up Brooks Lopez. I know he isn't the three point shooting phenom he showed in game one....but he could give Gasol enough breathers....and really help the offensive and defensively rebounding.

That and a three point shooter that can come up big in the playoffs like a reddick or korver off the bench.

Those two acquisitions with the return of OG...and kwahi of course, and we go back to back easy.

Lots of guys out there this year.

If we sign all back. Who would be available with the exceptions?

VC? He shot 38% from 3 last year.

Seth Curry would be a nice add if possible.

Think we need to add another 4 if possible.
