I think Ryan’s 1987 is an all-timer. Puts any Gausman complaints to shame.

In 87, Ryan led the league in ERA, FIP, K, K/9, H/9 and K:BB. Finished 8-16. He lost 9 games where he gave up 2 runs or less. All at age 40. What a gem.

This was one of the better games I've seen this season. Intense, both teams trying to win but running into hot pitchers. Interesting base running and small ball. Etc.

Yeah, and I think this probably confirms that Ryu is the first guy out of the pen in a best of 3 series. If any of Gausman/Berrios/Bassitt get in trouble early, bring in Ryu. Super short leashes.
