No, you might be on to something - it could work out like one of those 60's sitcoms where someone gets bumped in the head and forgets who they are until something bumps them in the head again and sets them back to normal. There's still time for real Vladdy to save the season.

I mean we're still only like 6 games out of a playoff spot .. crazier things have happened, I'm not giving up yet. Though the fact that they came out of the break shitting the bed this badly is not a good sign. Even if we surge, I'm down with not selling everything off but it's gonna have to be a no-go on Skubal, he'll cost a fortune and this version of the team has given no indication they're one pitcher away from anything...
 
This version of the team with Skubal, good Bieber, healthy Barger, and of course restored Vladdy could do a lot.

If Vladdy and Barger can be themselves, that has an impact up and down the lineup. One guy gets bumped out by Barger, and the trickle down on the rest might bring Kirk and Springer to life.

But it seems like too much to ask for for these things to suddenly happen after a whole season of not happening.
 
-51 run diff, last in the AL east. We would be one of the few sellers on the market because so few teams are all the way out of it, take advantage. Hard retool in the off season, come back looking for another division pennant next year.

Barger is good but not that good and probably also done for the season

Getting nothing out of Vlad, Springer, Varsho and Kirk is the death blow here.

Okamoto and the pitching have been good, Clement is fine, but the rest of the guys are role players are just flat out bad

The pen is actually kinda ok
