OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

You consistently argue against sabre, and are consistently wrong.

This nonsense doesn't even pass the smell test when basic logic is applied. Who should receive the highest number of AB's in a major league lineup?

A) The team's best hitters?
B) A team's 7th best hitter, because he's worth 2-3 more runs a year as a baserunner than the team's best hitters?

Doesn't even pass the smell test, but because it was, along with a whole pile of other nonsense, considered the right way to construct a line up for decades, people still argue it today when copious amounts of data have shown it to be incorrect.

Crying like a baby over Ben Revere getting an extra 1 to 1.5 at-bats a week is silly, when the guy getting pushed down is struggling and even when hitting better, would be better suited coming to the plate more frequently with guys on base. Plus the added benefit of pushing struggling guys like Martin and Pillar down a slot.

Except that we know this approach to be rubbish....

I mean, if you want to push Revere up ahead of Martin & Pillar because they're struggling...sure. If you want your 7th best hitter to get the most AB's, you're just simply wrong.

I have no doubt that Tulo will come around. His babip will definitely go up, and when he's on his game he's one of the best hitters in baseball.

I was thinking that moving Tulowitzki to the middle of the lineup to get him going makes sense. Maybe a little tweak like that would be enough to shake him up and push him to a higher level.

Is there a better spot to hit in right now than immediately in front of Josh Donaldson?
