OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

after AA left I stopped really caring about the team - just get a buzz with the final score. Noticed the pattern and went to verify that our division record sucks. Not sure if it matters if we are better on paper if we play down to our division

Ryu I have to think will only make it as someone who can give length, if they don't want to bring along someone like Bowden Francis (speaking of relievers that have done way better than expected).

Manoah I think if he can have a few big starts in September has the potential to give you a big game, but I think in a short wildcard series, unless if he's truly dominant all Septmebee, not sure I would trust enough. If you make it past that round, he could be a good game 1 option for the DS.

Also certainly a chance that Green doesn't impress in his return, or even guys like Yimi or Richards could blow up for a few games down the stretch and be left off. You probably only fully trust the top 3-4 arms anyways, would love nothing more to see no need to pitch Garcia in a short series.

And in a 5 game series Kikuchi is the emergency length guy. I see no point to Ryu or Manoah if Jose, Bassitt and Gausman are the 3 sp. Our pen has too many good RP to convert Ryu or Manoah for sentimental reasons

Kikuchi has been better than Bassitt for a couple months now.

And there's nothing sentimental about putting Ryu or Manoah in the pen. Relief is much easier than starting. Those good relievers would get tooled worse than Manoah or Ryu if they tried to start.

I love what jackson has done but i still won't trust him in the playoffs with his stuff, age, and track record.

Personally, I don't know if I trust Bassitt in a one game start. He is a great pitcher for the season though. Gives you a lot of innings.

every pitcher plays up in the pen.

and in the playoffs you love having the freedom to yank a starter very early if he's struggling.

one thing for sure is that most of the worries i had about this 5'9" kid not actually having legit power are gone already. kid is thicc and the ball flies off his bat.

we'll see what happens with him when they stop feeding him middle middle fastballs tho.

He apparantly has good plate vision and discipline, but yeah, the league will adjust, he'll struggle and have to figure something out.

Good move with the moustache and glasses to make people think he's shit. Rance Mullinicks reverse catfish or some such
