How the hell is Jacob Barnes still on this team and the only option in extras. Unreal. Guy should never pitch for the big club again
Perfect example today that the team style of winning is unsustainable over 162 games
Cant rely on elite pitching and a pop gun offense , it wont last

The record is good but yeah, I just don't think this group can hit. Going into today the wRC+ was okay (106, good for 11th in MLB) but a babip of .300 is probably unsustainable unto itself but it's the quality of contact that's concerning. According to statcast they're 14th in hardhit%, which is meh but not bad, but 28th in barrel% which basically means they're hitting the ball hard an okayish amount but the launch angles are junk. Basically smacking a bunch of 95mph exit velocity grounders. 23rd in pull% as well.
So yeah, I don't expect an offence with Vlad, Santander, and Bo to be this bad at those things all year but I don't think it's ever going to be good at putting the highest value balls in the play and the plan is in fact to win like a 250 million dollar Kansas City Royals that wins with slap hitting, base running, pitching & D.
