Top-10 in 2023 is projected to be almost uniquely forwards. The top is center heavy.
But as always, things'll change between now & next year's draft. There's probably some dude in Europe that's going to have a hell of a summer & skyrocket up the rankings by next year's draft.

The Jets have no cards to play so they can ask for whatever player they want now, but eventually they'll either take what they can get (a pennies on the dollar type of trade) or lose him for nothing. This is like when Ken Griffey Jr. decided he wanted to be traded to the Reds and no one but the Reds. The Mariners had no leverage to get a good return for him. The Jets are now in the same boat with PLD. Get something or get nothing. There's no third option.

2) they'll eventually have to buckle. Whether it's to the Habs, a short deal for PLD or a trade
I just find it curious that this went into overdrive once HuGo replaced MB. Brisson their friend or something?

A serious contender could snag Dubois on the cheap knowing full well he’s gone in 2 years. And the Jets can stick it to Dubois and the Habs.

Don't we win either way? We sign him in 2 years, get a top 5 pick this year, maybe even next year, and then can trade Dvorak/Anderson for even more assets. It's not like we are competing in the next few years either way. This is just to appease fans who think it's great a Quebecer wants to come here and let's trade for him. Forgetting how garbage the team is and how we need to rebuild still with high end prospects.
Again, if he's cheap then go for it but he would still be counter productive to a full out rebuild short term. We can't ruin this golden opportunity we have in a very deep draft. I'm over the patch jobs that lead to years of mediocrity, I just don't know why some fans aren't.

And? We’re talking PLD here, not Connor McDavid or Nathan McKinnon. If he never becomes a Hab, so be it.

I think it's just circumstances given PLD contract situation. MB has been on PLD since his draft year as it was rumored he had a deal in place with the Oilers to draft him at #4.
