It's time for Big Dave to do something serious. He's likely hanging by a thread ... blow up that coaching staff and find a new one quick.

he also took all sorts of heat for his hand-picked reach at #5 in 2004... wheeler. he needed some time before he started to figure things out, but that pick was brilliant. total shit draft.. after wheeler? montoya, olesz, picard, smid, valabik, tukonen, thelen, stafford, dubnyk, radulov, nokaleinin, schwarz, chipchura, korpikoski, zajac, wolski, kaspar, meszaros, chucko, schremp, schneider, schultz, fistric, green, rogers.

I want the playoffs badly....but I have all sorts of faith in Timmy L to sort this franchise out should we not. We're in an awesome situation for a good executive to push us over the top.

The question I have is who is out there that could currently replace Carlyle if/when he's canned?

Even Turris, who was also considered an unknown kid at a bit of a reach because he was coming out of an unorthodox league for such a high pick....while not an elite player by any stretch, has turned into by far the best player taken between the 3-6 picks, and on par with Voracek at the 7.

Seriously, coaches might be the most over rated part of a NHL team. Some coaches are able to work temporary magic with a new system, new approach, new personality. At this point, I think that's all we need. I spent some time with the Leafs individual possession numbers the other night and to a man, every single Leafs has seen a massive decline in possession% over the last 2 years. Whatever Randy is doing, isn't working, and it has this group looking far worse than they are. There's no structure, and it's not in the players.
