All nine MLB teams whose games are broadcast on FanDuel Sports Network are officially departing the parent company Main Street Sports Group, with eight of the nine expected to migrate to MLB Media.

To quote a tee shirt I’ve seen … “put the Braves back on cable"

Seriously, they can pull it off if anyone can. They’ve got a much broader demographic than anybody other than the Cubs and Yankees.

Won’t be TBS due to their national contract but the rumor we’ve been discussing on a Braves board I frequent is that they may have a deal with Apple or Amazon for big money. One of the espn producers I talked to at the UNC/syracuse game Monday night said that’s what they were hearing also. They have such a broad fanbase big streaming services find them compelling. They may end up in the short term doing a deal with Gray media an Atlanta based group that produces their spring training games and about 15 games a year for free on local Georgia TV. Similar to the canes and WRAL. This gives them this season to work out a long term deal and get production crews in order for 2027. It’s a quick turn around to get them on Apple or Amazon even if they’ve been doing some leg work behind the scenes for the last couple of years. Every one knew the RSN’s weren’t going to make it. They should be announcing something very soon with spring training kicking off next week

Ironically, Gray now owns channel 17 in Atlanta, aka the former WTBS.
 
Illitch Sports and Entertainment, owner of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings, will partner with Major League Baseball to provide production support next season. Both teams were under contract with FanDuel.

Major League Baseball will produce and distribute Tigers games. Illitch Sports and Entertainment will produce the Red Wings broadcasts, MLB will assist with production processes. They anticipate broadcasts to be available on cable or satellite or direct to consumer streaming app.

Sports leagues are trying to renegotiate their TV deals before the NFL hits the market again. Bettman and PGA Tour CEO have already approached their partners according to the article. The NHL deals expire first, in 2028, the PGA Tour in 2030. The NFL deals expired in 2029 and 2030 but are widely expected to start negotiations earlier.

This could go badly for Bettman. TNT lost the NBA rights, but might want to keep their powder dry to get involved with the NFL. And the demise of Diamond Sports Group puts a quarter of the NHL in a local broadcast bind.

That Peacock app is worse than Fanduel. I can't watch the replay of USA vs Sweden without pauses. My Wi-Fi is fine. No fast fwd, back or anything. Fuck the Olympics

It starts ok but the longer you leave it on the more frequent the pauses and skips…it happens every day to me on that app and is indeed glitchy as hell.

I did watch a couple of games where it worked pretty good. Maybe good ole NBC is overwhelmed by actually have viewers. IDK but there are so many new things on the Internet it seems I spend more time trying to fix things and getting now where fast. I find myself watching the YouTube 10 and 15 minute replay
 
I have been using peacock since it came out and I’ve never had issues….. and I have watched dozens of Olympics events live and replay on the app. Weird.


Fanduel, on the other hand, is the single worst thing created by humans

This reflects my experience as well. As a big Premier League fan, I've been using Peacock for a long time. It works flawlessly on my TVs, my iPad, and my phone.

I hope FanDuel enjoys a painful death.
 
I'm new with Peacock and plan to cancel when Olympics are finished. I have found it sketchy with live performance. Sometimes flawless with other times putting up with not letting you into the game or when you're in has no controls which at that time try to have patience and hope it clears up. How long can you wait for something which may never happen. If I'm late to a game or it has already finished and they're calling it a replay. Of course it can act like I said a minute ago with no controls and delays with total skips of time. I just turned yesterdays USA game on and have full control. I'm sure the fast fwd button will help at this point. Missing our Canes for sure. FYI I'm not a Fanduel fan either. Everybody has to have an App I guess . It just seems they'd be better than they are by now
