Tech Thread

ah so originally it was Clawdbot. which i thought was a derivitive of Claude AI, and it turns out i wasn't the only one who thought that, so they had to change their name to Moltbot.

But then they didn't like that new name as it was getting more popular, so they changed it to OpenClaw. I imagine they'll try not to change the name again.

Also not on my 2026 bingo card was Furries creating digital sentience.

I'll 10000% defer to experts in the field there, but I'd be beyond shocked if this wasn't just a LLM doing what it's supposed to do: use probability to guess the output it's been prompted to provide and there's no deeper "there" there, but yeah. Because if we invented sentience that hallucinates 30% of the time, well, we've fucked up even worse than I previously though. Imagine only being able to invent psychotic people.
