The Expansion Draft

He says they have 6 deals so far. Consensus from all the MSM seems to be that four of them are TAM, NYI, CBJ, and ANA.

Remember vegas must take 14 f 9 d 3 g so that leaves 4 extra picks. Of course even 9 d is more than they need

Yeah McPhee said he's going to take a lot of d so he'll have to trade a shit load the next day.

So you can bet guys like Colin Miller, Matt dumba, Jason demers, etc may be available. Although maybe not demers.. unless Lou or a gm call and make an offer for them to take demers and ship him to Toronto. We'll see I suppose, but I think a guy like Colin Miller is more likely to be shipped since he'd be buried on Vegas.

Colin Miller makes some sense. Dubas connection.

He was mega sheltered so I don't put much stock in his nerd numbers. But he's skilled and can skate beautifully. As a last resort he's a good add. Low risk, would come cheap and has some serious talent. A Babcock kind of d for sure. But I'd aim higher of course.

Curious to how Millers numbers would look with increased ice time and QoC

Yeah that's the ultimate question with him. He's a big time question mark. I like his skillset and especially his skating more than those numbers though. A rhd with that package is worth taking a flyer on. Worst case he's a third pair d and pp specialist. Best case he's a legit top four possession driving rhd.

He reminds me a bit of Jake Gardiner earlier in his career. A rhd version. Makes some dumb mistakes but he can skate his way out of trouble more often than not. Jake is likely a better skater and better player overall but Miller has potential in a larger role than he's played thus far in his career.

I see Vegas passing on Demers and taking Marchessault.

Especially given GM's comments that they are going to have a lot of D and be strong on the wings.

He's gonna need to get some Cs at some point.

Miller is worth taking a chance on. At the very least he has earned an opportunity for a bigger role. He also has that big shot the Leafs are missing from the blueline.

Buy at your own risk with Marchessault. I would go with Demers and try and flip him to the highest bidder

26 years old, 700 K on the cap, and his shooting percentage while high, isn't insane 16.6%.

He is a heck of a flip too IMO.

Good player that comes cheap, no doubt. But he's not going to change a franchise or anything. 40-45 player moving forward imo.

Whereas Demers is a legit top four rhd locked in at a good price. I don't think it's close between the two, personally.

which one are you getting? If he reverts back to his pre Panthers production then you miss out on a sure asset like Demers
