So much for Pleks's offense going downhill. Go figure, you place him with offensive players and put him in offensive roles and he produces. I'm shocked.
 
Much better second half of the game. Really nice starting the season 2-0 on the road.

Any word on AE?

Nice to have a very good back up goalie.

Sportsnet were pimpin Plek's defensive game tonight.
They showed replays of his penalty kill coverage against Ovechkin and some good defensive plays.

Number 14 played a solid 2 way game tonight. He deserves as much credit as Tokarski for the win IMO.
This guy is a big reason why we make the playoffs every year, and why we'll make them again this year.

We were not expecting very much chemistry from the 14/27 tandem, but it would be very good for us if it can help Plekanec turn up his offence a notch and if Galchenyuk couldlearn to play a better defensive game by being on the ice with the best 2 way pivot of the team.

The UGLY : Orpik had too many big hits for my liking.

I don't think anyone will ever question his abilities in the defensive end.

It's his offense that goes MIA for stretches that people question.

Let's hope he can stay with Chuky and have a good offensive season

I was coming here to say the same thing and fully expected no one to mention it. Has much as people Hate Therrien, the new version seems to make the right decision. First by Starting Tokasrki even if it's only the second game of the season and secondly, when the team was going nowhere, he change up his lines to wake up his team and it worked. I'm eating crows for this but you really can't fault him and like it or not, he is a big part of the reason we were successfull in the past seasons.
