Should we read anything into the fact that Sandin’s dressing with the scrubs on Friday night, and most likely won’t play with the main group on Saturday night?

I wouldn't, because so are Marincin, Harpur, Schmaltz. Looks like one last shot for the bubble guys to prove who gets to play with the big boys
 
Just babs making him earn it all the way imo.

And a chance for gravel and hill to stake a claim on the extra dman slot.

Depends. Let's see if Babcock plays him as the #1, and really leans on him.
 


My favourite part, and it's subtle but important, is the one footed pivot he makes. Most defenders are forced to do a full cross over to shift their weight there. Sandin just pivots on his edge (similar to the footwork Mitchy uses to make defender worldwide very miserable people) and puts himself in position to stick check Wiese.

Now, it's Dale fucking Wiese (am I spelling his name right? Does anyone know or care?) so it's not super impressive. But it's still a 19 yr old kid abusing a guy with NHL experience with pure smarts, skating, and positioning.
 
They have to give the C to Matty, even just for strategic reasons. Tavares is here to stay for the rest of his career. Rielly will resign without much trouble. Make Matty pregnant with the C so he’ll have a harder time ever entertaining a departure.

Some people seem to disagree. I see a lot of posters trivializing Matthews' behaviour, which is wrong.

Who said that? Women do have more reason to feel unsafe while out alone at night, and Auston should have been conscious of that. And yes he knew that it was a female security guard he was approaching.

You are omitting the fact that he grabbed his buttocks as well. That would be considered sexual harassment in a work setting. It was also extremely insensitive to the victim, who had already made her distress known.

He did something that was very stupid, and above all, disturbing to the victim. With two other strong candidates available, giving the C to Matthews would send a very bad message.

I'm guessing that Gravel and Holl are auditioning for the pressbox.

Curious to see Korshkov in this lineup. I guess he's getting a shot after his most recent good game. Petan and Agostino look to be hanging on by a thread.

We all do stupid things. We are all especially likely to do stupid things when it’s late, when we are drunk and when we are young. Fistfights, minor acts of vandalism, listening to a lot of Dave Matthews.

But we have not all said to ourselves, “There’s someone who’s alone and vulnerable. Let’s see how funny it would be to remind her just how much.”

It is difficult to wrap your head around what – based on the guard’s description to police – sounds like a cruel act of intimidation. If proved true, it is the mark of someone who thinks the little people are far lesser than him and deserving of no consideration or kindness.

Like I mentioned earlier, this behavior among hockey bros is the norm not the exception. Its just not thrust into the spot light most of the time
 
Congrats on winning the pre-season! If you were in Ottawa, I'm sure you'd plan a celebration for that prestigious banner.
