Before we even get to the excitement of watching, there's the excitement of roster building.

The trades so far, hopefully McKenna a week from today, no doubt trades before the draft hits and around ufa time, plus another ufa or two. This is by far the most exciting offseason since we drafted Matthews. Nothing else even comes close and we've barely started.
 
I'd be interested in Marchment. Not sure why he was so bad in Seattle, but like the player at the right price.

I mean, way way more than Maccelli if we can dump him for a pick and get Marchment instead.
 
If Chayka doesn't want to rely on Stolarz, I can certainly understand that. Not sure if there's a chance to add say Bobrovsky for relatively cheap and then trade Stolarz for stuff, but I'd be down for that or something like that for sure.
 
I'm getting more and more interested in the idea of maybe we should take on Petterson in Vancouver.

Some rumours are noting that they could retain up to 2 million retention.
Some other rumours are that Mo wants to be on a competitive team...

I really want Chayka to take a swing with pettersen, and Mo going back. With 2 mill retention its close enough.

Epet becomes 2C with less pressure. Plays with fellow swede Nylander, Move JT to 2LW or 3C with Cowen and Joshua

Or trade the first plus whatever to see if you can get Trotchek

Another thought, now that Tampa lost Raddyish I bet they are gonna sign Carlson and they may have that already in place.

Wild that Berger managed to have a 23-year career based entirely off writing drivel, trolling Leaf fans & making up trade rumours out of whole cloth.

And even wilder that since his long-overdue firing by the Fan590 in 2011, he’s continued obsessively doing all of the above in the 15+ years since despite no one paying him a cent for it, just for the pure love of being a complete shitbag. Hell, he even paid heavily out of pocket for years to continue following the team around and attending games so as to play-act at being a still-gainfully employed Leaf reporter.

It’s a fascinating form of mental illness that really deserves further study.

I saw that report somewhere, but have a very hard time believing that he really expects that at age 37 with the down season he had, or that if he does, that anyone would offer it up. He should be more than happy with a 2 year deal for reasonable money when he sees nobody else is stepping up with a big offer that goes into his 40s.

I'm only saying that, say he's willing to sign for 2 years at $4M per, we could take him and trade off Stolarz to the highest bidder and be better off.

Better and more durable and accomplished goalie (despite being older), only a two year commitment instead of four owed to Stolarz, and get to take in some trade assets from whoever takes Stolarz.
