Mitch got every penny back and then some on his 2nd deal.
Just shut up and go away ffs.
I think he thought that once he left, everything would go to shit and that it would be revealed that he was the glue that held everything together.
And he was probably so fucking thrilled all year long that we were floundering and it looked like Tre and Biff were going to bury us and decimate the franchise for years. And it almost happened.
Then Tre got fired, but nothing happened to indicate any real change or betterment, and then Mitch went all the way to the finals and looked poised to be the scoring champ and playoffs MVP. How elated he must've been. Couldn't wait to talk about those dark times after he got to hoist the cup.
But the hockey gods somehow got a boner for the Leafs, and let us finish 5th last to be in the running for the lottery. Knocked Mitch out. Mats returned. The lottery win. McKenna. Raddysh. Bunch of additions and everything looking sparkly new. Meanwhile Dorofyev gets traded for just futures and they're over the cap still. Vegas looks old and weak as fuck suddenly, and Mitch is only starting year 2 of his long term deal.
So, of course they're grumbling again. I said when he signed, without knowing how it would really play out, that I didn't think he'd last more than three years there. I still think that. They're going to go down, and Mitch is going to be one vocally unhappy camper real soon.
