The official NFL thread

Seeing Buffalo move up for Allen is so... Buffalo.

Have we ever seen a qb with those types of accuracy issues have success in the NFL?

Tremaine Edmunds looks like a tremendous pick but that Allen pick... oh boy.

Rudolph to the Steelers is solid in the 3rd round. Great pick imo.

I'd bet he has a better career than Allen.

Yeah. I like the Edmunds pick. Super freak. Taking Allen over Rosen though? Head scratcher.

Really love the Jets pick of CB Parry Nickerson, great ballhawk skills, blazing speed.....ideal nickle back one day, imo.

TE Chris Herndon from U of M is real damn intriguing too...stats don't jump off the page, but he did a lot of the dirty work at TE while Njoku got all the acclaim. Has great ball catching skills, is fantastic out of the slot, can block better than you'd expect from a TE with his pass catching ability, and has a seemingly great catch radius. Still raw, but he could be developed into Darnold's safety valve one day, for sure.

Kinda cool we drafted a Toronto guy in the third too.

Pats trading with SF to pick up a tackle was one of those classically infuriating trades, where you can't fathom why other teams keep helping them, haha.

Probably slots in as Solders replacement from day one, making the Wynn pick even better as he grades out better at Guard.

Bill playing 5 dimensional chess again. Or he’s finally gone full potato.

They took their high end picks, avoided the middle rounds by trading down and out, and then picked up a couple of ILBS and small slot receiver.

The Patriots have 12 pick next year - they’re likely gonna them as trade bait and compensation before training camp.

I had no problem trading #22 and a third for Edmunds. That’s not a stretch. Trading #12 and two seconds for Allen though? Yeah he can throw 80 yards in the air but you gotta be able to hit your target.

Allen is a swing for the fences to be sure. Its possible that Pegula got duped into believing the hype. Meddling ownership on personnel decisions is the worst thing in pro sports. I don't doubt that Allen has tremendous potential but the numbers look pretty bad all they back to high school. I'm not sure what he'll be but i'm intrigued.

As for passing on Rosen i don't know what to think. Seems as though his attitude is a concern along with some injuries(concussions, shoulder). I think there is something to say about team unity and leadership from the QB spot. He seems like a bit of a douche but who knows what goes on in the huddle.

Edmunds is a nice player, and for pure value it's fine.....it doesn't make a ton of sense tho for a team with the holes that the Bills have, especially given what you traded to get Allen.

Bills should have been trading down, accumulating picks, and adding as many rolls of the dice as possible.

Unless, like with the Jets, Cards, Ravens....trading up got you your future franchise QB, in which case who gives a sh*t what it cost. But history is pretty clear cut, that more picks is virtually the only way to guarantee success at the draft.

Maurice Hurst fell to Raiders at 140. Pro Football Focus had him as the best non QB in the draft.

Jets got so damn lucky.....they almost got Rosen at 3, after trading three seconds to move up from 6, when they'd have gotten him at 6 regardless.

Darnold falling in our lap made McCagnan look like a genius, but we lucked out so hard.

Pretty sure he had a heart issue that was discovered at the combine, that justifiably scared teams off, and obviously wouldn't be factored in to PFF grading. (Nor is any off field stuff, for that matter).

Otherwise he'd have been a day one pick.

He did, but then he was cleared. Still, that's a long tumble. Good gamble in the 4th.

Well yeah, he wouldn't have been drafted at all if he wasn't cleared.

Pretty clearly it's the reason even the Raiders themselves passed on him 5 times, and didnt take him till the 5th.

Vikings continue to draft what's worked for them -- picking athletic freaks they think can be coached to match their specific schemes.
