Leafs/Habs/Sens 2014-15

Pac was rocked. I wouldn't be surprised if he is out for a month.

Macarthur slid into Lehner and they were both out for 3 weeks and counting.

Conkys are a crazy thing.

At least I'd say, the guy hit his head pretty awkwardly on the boards, given he has a history of concussions... it doesn't look good for him, hopefully he makes a complete recovery.

You're right it's absurd to think any team could pull off winning non stop for 1/4 of a season, that wasn't my point though and per usual you completely missed it. My point is you're acting non-chalant about losing to a bottom feeder and saying you gained points, mine was while you may have gotten a loser point out of that game you still badly needed that extra one, had you gotten it that alone would put you solely in 8th.
And if my Aunt had a dick she'd be my Uncle.

Your point is moot. We've had some games where we stole points and some games where points were lost or stolen from us. The Sens have done almost everything they can to get into a spot where they make the playoffs. If you want to make a huge deal about the Sens not winning out against the Leafs then have at it. But I'll point to a Western road trip sweep, or a 3-goal comeback vs the Penguins. For some of the bad games we've had, we've had alot more good ones. That's hockey.

He absolutely will make a complete recovery.

But I'm just fine watching him sit out and the Habs goal scoring shrivels.

To be fair, i still think she'd be your Aunt, just with a dick.

Depending on how the original Uncle wants to classify the relationship.

What exactly is your argument here?

Same thing it's been since the discussion started. "The Run" started February 17th and not January 1st. '"The Run" has been an unsustainable product of luck.

Anything else being claimed is numb nuts editorializing.

So what have the numbers shown us? That from Jan 1 - Feb 17th, the Senators played better than their record suggested (70 point pace) and probably deserved a better fate. Since Feb 17th, they've received insane goaltending, had an insance SH%, and relatively poor possession, with results coming in far better than the team performance suggests that they should.

During the streak the Sens are 6th in the NHL in scoring chance differential.

Congratulations on the Sens appearing to be really good at an untested, made up statistic of entirely unknown value in the hockey analytics world.

Congratulations, truly.

There is a **** ton of work done on the correlation between Corsi, possession, and "scoring chances". You've got one guy, with a stat he developed 3 months ago. You run with that little buddy.

Sens @ 5on5 Even Strength

Season Opener - Jan 1st.
GF60 - 21st
SA60 - 27th
GA60 - 20th

Jan 1st - Present
GF60 - 4th
SA60 - 21st
GA60 - 15th

Improved goaltending only impacts one of those statistics.
Nice to see you've ignored these very simple stats. I don't expect this type of dishonest argument from you.

Hammond's last 10 games

.910 SV%
8-0-1

Keep ignoring the team improvements all you want, but you look like an idiot.

Who has ignored them?

If you understood the points I've made, you would understood how I've addressed them already.

Btw...where is Shots for/60?

*edit*...and why shots instead of Corsi events?

What do those stats say? Only that the Sens hot streak was likely driven by hot shooting percentage and goaltending? Like pretty much every hot streak, any team has.

You don't go from a 21st ranked goal scoring squad to 4th on just improved shooting %.

Throw in a coaching change, rookie development and shooting % - then you might have an argument.

14th in CF% during that stretch. I keep looking for team improvements, but "luck" isn't a team improvement.

Like I've said, enjoy it while it lasts man.

Yep.

That's my entire point, that this streak isn't fueled by some leap in team quality.

Throw in whatever you want. Since the Sens hot streak began on February 10 their PDO is 4th in the NHL at 101.6. Its percentage driven.

I don;t know that its sad stuff. Its the same stuff we heard about the Leafs when they were winning. Its not us just making it up for no reason. Its something the analytics community looks at closely.
