Les Habitants Prospects Thread

It is not an impressive list the decade+ after 2007.

WiFi was not drafted but good on them anyway.
All I'm saying is that HuGo didn't draft these guys and that MB (at least) didn't give away the store in assets and picks. Just cap hell. Could have been worse.

The shitty thing is... It will take some luck to get what we did from 2007 again. 2 top pair D and a big scoring winger.

Watch some kings games. Danault is a big part of the Kings success. A player like him is well worth drafting at 33. Not many players drafted lower than the second round make it.
Again, missing the point.

The Kings didn't draft him at 33, the same way we didn't draft him either, which is my point. You can trade for the Lars Eller, Phillip Danault types, or you can sign them. There are third line centers available, quite literally, every single summer in free agency.

While players like Danault himself is much more rare, you can find players that fill his shoes every single year. It's not even that difficult.

We always have trouble finding third line centres though.... We are always swimming in first line centres.

I get your point. PD is an actual second line center. I think Beck can attain that level too but we’ll see. I don’t see him as a bad pick at all at 33.

Except with the cap it's more effective to home grow these guys and save a million per year. Plus they aren't as broken down. That savings gets applied to higher end players.

There's more than one way to look at club building.

Beck had solid game yesterday , playing his 200 foot consistent game

Wouldn’t be surprised if he takes Evans job next year
