No, it has always been 4.5 innings (if the home team is ahead.) If the visitors are ahead, you have to play 5.4.5? Wasn’t it 6 before? Is this one of the new changes?
I haven't been so invested in years, so I'm fuzzy on some of the rules. Could've sworn it was more than 5 innings. No, it has always been 4.5 innings (if the home team is ahead.) If the visitors are ahead, you have to play 5.
The rule change related to game length is that if a game is rained out before it’s official, they resume it later where they left off. Pre-pandemic they would just cancel it and play the whole thing again. It’s made for some weird situations like when Danny Jansen was batting for the Jays and catching for the Red Sox during the same at bat.
It is wide open right now.so is it time to ask whether Scherzer actually deserves to make the playoffs rotation.
