2019 Carolina Hurricanes Off Season Thread

Working through ticket exchanges (starting with my pre-season tickets). For my lower level North, if you believe that they are not holding back seats, there are not 2 tickets available for the opener in any of those sections. That would be the first time I've ever seen that happen prior to public sale.

The new road uniform has been released...

Yeah ... that's only OK so far as I'm concerned. I'm happy to get rid of the red capped shoulder panels, but the script logo is decidedly bland for me. I do like that the road unis will be in the same design structure as the other two though. That's a plus. I just wish there was something going more happening in the chest space other than a block script "Canes."

Ugh, don't like them at all (beyond the color scheme). If the team wins I won't care but I'm definitely not spending money on one of those.

They did lose the one design element I really liked about the white unis ... the black numbers. I always like a strong contrast on the numbers and red on white isn't as sharp as black on white. Still, dumping that horrible red shoulder cap is a win even if the overall look is quite pedestrian.

One issue I have with the new design--which, overall, I'm OK with--is where do the Cs and As the captains and assistants will wear go?!

Yes, but it's going to look stupid, with a C or an A near the same letters in the name "CANES." I hope I'm wrong.
LEFT front shoulder (on the jersey, right side as you view it) ... on the side opposite where the C in Canes starts. That's where the Rangers and Avalanche had their captains' letters with similar uniform styles.

Yeah, I guess it doesn't look that bad...

Probably in the minority here but I’ve never liked the swirly logo and so I think this is a big improvement. Yeah, it’s simple and relatively bland, but i think that’s a good break from the nondescriptness that is our main logo.

Seeing as two of the three uniforms feature something other than the standard logo, I think you're seeing the club backing away from it slowly. I'd guess the next red road sweater will also feature the flags on a stick logo and that will end up being the primary.

I finished round 1 of my STM ticket and voucher exchanges. The increase in STM sales is very noticeable when you start to look at what tickets are available now. It looks like a lot of partial plans were sold. The home opener ticket availability was extremely sparse already, even prior to general public sales. I had to get my 2 extras for the opener in another section (and another price point even) for the first time since I re-entered as a STM 2 seasons ago. Partial plans have significantly picked at the premium priced games. That was the case last year too, but I'm seeing it a new level for this coming season.

That is all good of course in the grand scheme of things. Its not so great when you were used to being able to snag the 2 seats next to your STM tickets for most games, but I would rather have the building full and have to break up my family when all 4 of us go than to be able to sit together.
If you are a STM and need extras for any game, especially premium games or are planning on exchanging some tickets around, you might not want to wait too long. Different looking dynamic on the available tickets for this season already.
