I’ve been to a a couple of games at Providence Park, both Thorns and Timbers. I’ve always been in the Timbers Army/Rose City Riveters section. There are seats (benches), but nobody uses them, not even at halftime. And that stadium is old, with the supporters sections are in the oldest part of the stadium. Significantly, most of the seats in those sections require a walk up stairs, so there is a lower chance of a crush.

NCSU playing Kentucky in bowl. KY 4 wins came against 4 SEC bottom feeders. Maybe another parade in Raleigh like the last gator bowl?
Army got screwed by the bowls. They had a contract with the Independence Bowl that would have put them against a PAC-12 team, but 7 of them backed out. So the game was cancelled. Meanwhile, 2-8 South Carolina is going to a bowl and 9-2 Army is staying home.
At least once of the cancelled bowls on the East Coast is trying to work something out that involves Army. We'll see ... but yeah, they got hosed. Shocking how it's always the "other conferences" that get screwed over, isn't it?

Tennessee backs out of Liberty Bowl, so maybe Army goes there.

I have an 8" Dobsonian reflector that's been out in a shed for years since the last time I used it, because of light pollution. I pulled it out, and while I had kept an end cap on it, the mirror had still accumulated some crud. I gave it a go anyway, and it was worth it. We took it down to the dam on Lake Crabtree just after sunset and there were already maybe a couple hundred people there. Set it up and it was maybe a half hour before the conjunction was fully visible. In the scope (I used a 6mm wide field lens) could see the Galilean moons and Saturn's rings, contained in a single field of view. I'd always wanted to see two astronomical objects like that. Very cool.

2 more reasons why Tenn not bowling : they suck and almost all fans want to fire AD and coach.
Auburn already turned down by 4 FB coaches. Maybe they can hire Amato. They will end up with a DC or OC from the SEC or a smaller school guy.

There was an article in USA Today last week, hammering schools for crying poverty because of the pandemic but committing $82 million to severance payments to football coaches. Auburn is on the hook for $21 million to Malzahn, South Carolina is on the hook for $15 million to Muschamp.

usually high roller donors fund a lot of the buyouts. Because in many cases the high rollers demand the guy get fired. Doesn't matter if the AD or chancellor want to keep the guy, if the high rollers want him gone, he's gone. Auburn has a banker who is their big donor. Rumor has it Amato was axed partly for not kissing up enough to big donors. He did not even want them at practices at first. In other words if your name is on a college building you pretty much can get a guy fired after just 1 bad year . That's why ECU fired Steve Logan, he did not like kissing butts of donors and had a down year .
Tenn big donor is the guy Haslam who owns the Browns. If he wants a guy out , that's all that matters. And yes his name is on a building and the business school is named for him. And his brother was Tenn governor for 8 years

We tried, didn't work. You really need the proper eyepiece fitting to do that. Also, it's not a motorized mount, so the planets were only in the field of view for 20-30 seconds at a time. But yeah - would be cool. I've seen images from some better scopes that were fantastic. Just seeing it live was great, though.
