If by your definition one wont be a star , front liner/top pair D .......totally agree

I expect Drysdale to be Hughes but better defensively so that is a top pair D

Byfield is the safest pick in the top 3 , a 15 year top 6 forward with a floor of a better skating ROR from the blues

My bet is the french guy not living up to expectations
 
So apparently if the draft happens in June, before the season ends, the format will change and the Habs will not have a chance to draft in the top three.

Garbage , finish the season if you can and do the lottery after the cup is awarded

If its cancelled use the final standings to determine your lottery odds

Thats why its a lottery , to give every lottery team a shot at the top pick

The post you quoted isn't true based on the plan the NHL announced, at least not yet. The Habs still have a shot at picking in the top three right now.
 
I'm very surprised William Villleneuve is only an Honorable Mention. I think he's a good second round pick. Wouldn't be mad at all if we took him in the late 30s, either.
 
Holtz or Sanderson (I'm quite knowledgeable on this as I spent 8 mins reading an article in The Athletic)
 
I would do whatever we can to nab Rossi if he slips past Anaheim . Sanderson , Holtz , Perfettti , Quinn

I am good with any of them , Rossi is a stud . We need a few surprises as usual to sneak into the top 8 pushing others down .

We need another top player like CC desperately .

Does anybody else think it is absolute HORSESHIT that the lottery is happening Friday?

COVID is running rampant in the U.S. with record high reported cases in some states. Several players have reportedly contracted COVID with the return to practice facilities.

I'm not sure why the NHL is so confident that a return to play is automatic. If the COVID cup gets cancelled and the Habs miss out at even a 1% chance at the 1st overall pick I will be F**KING PISSED! I don't get what the rush is to do the lottery.

How does this crap system work

If the first 3 picks are taken by the 6 non teams , is the second re-lottery over and then the rest decide on points/standongs

I wanted the season cancelled than play this nonsense play with some teams out in 2 weeks after a 4 month layoff
