Fantasy Baseball Rules Changes & Deadlines

I assume that the draft is on here since there is the option to draft unprotected players... that wouldn't be allowed on Fantrax.

I also assume that the draft will officially start tomorrow morning at 8am EST... but there's no reason that we can't start right away if Deckie is ready to pick.
 
I hope everyone is able to make their picks in a timely fashion. We give a 24 hour clock so that people don't miss out on their pick do to circumstance... not so much to use the time to study.

Not all rosters are compliant yet. We did say the deadline is tonight at midnight.
 
Montana and JaysCyYoung. (Montana is aware, sent Jays a pm but he didn't respond). As far as I know, that's it, but feel free to take a look as well. Not easy to keep track of all of them, that's for sure.
 
I guess someone needs to put up a draft thread as well. Perhaps Deckie can set it up, as he has already been dealing with the draft pick order.
 
Just got a pm from Habsfan1 saying that he has been out of the country with limited internet access, and wants to drop out of the "baseball league" due to lack of time. We assume he's talking about the dynasty league, but I sent a pm asking for clarification. We had an extra person interested in joining earlier, I have sent him an email offering him the team if he still wants in. So this is a heads-up that if this is in fact happening, we will probably have to postpone the draft till Monday to give him a couple of days to get up to speed.

We'll keep you all posted.
 
Sure is...I did my best to clear my sched tomorrow, in hopes that I could get through my 1st 5 picks. I've lined up almost a full day in my office getting caught up on paperwork so that I could keep FI open.

I'm going to guess that a guy who has ran a keeper league for 10 years already has a pretty good idea who is available in this draft, who he likes, etc. If we can get this guy on board tonight, and he's cool with drafting tomorrow, I'd like to go forward with it if at all possible. I mean, dude has the 7 pick....imo, the first 6-7 picks in this draft, for anyone who has scouted it, are pretty straight forward.

Meh, nothing we can do about it so best is just to let it go and move on. I would put it to the interested dude like this though, that he's either ready to go for the draft tomorrow, or we've gotta mothball the team for the year.

Again, dude sold himself as a very experienced dynasty league owner that just had his league fall apart, the draft was almost a ****ing calendar year ago...if this guy is what he says, he should have a really, really good idea of who he would pick 7th. As long as he's ready to pick 7th and keep us rolling, he'd have a bit of time after to better familiarize himself with the format, etc, before making his later selections.

We are time sensitive though imo.

I agree, if he's as seasoned as he says he is then a quick look at his team and who all is available he should be good to go. Besides if we start tomorrow, worst case is that he takes the full 24 hours to scout, but at least we would have started.

When we were looking for a replacement for Mary's team, we sent out a few inquiries, and actually had interest from 2 people. Killersweet accepted first, but we told the second guy he's first on the list. He's in another league with us, and not that guy who recently posted here. If he can't do it for whatever reason, the guy you are talking about would be next in line.
 
I believe Smokin' Stogies is going to take over Habsfan1's team. We'll know for sure on Saturday. I sent him an invite, and told him to introduce himself here. We will need to find out how his knowledge level is on the prospects, and try to help him figure out the details of the league. He's got the 7th pick, I suppose we can start the draft when ready for at least the first 6 picks, and do our best to get the new guy up to speed. If he needs a day or two to do so, that's only fair. Once he feels comfortable, he can make his selection once we get to #7.

However, we still can't start the draft officially because for some inexplicable reason, Montana and JCY still have not fixed their rosters, even though the deadline has passed. Once that's done, Deckie can make the call if he wants to make the first pick. Hopefully we'll have heard back from Stogies by then.
