OT: The News Thread

Yes. Just the same as a paranoid schizophrenic hearing voices.

As someone who is reaching a point of ex-Ford supporter....why the hell would anyone want to lift a finger to help him anymore. Unless the guy has some unbelievably devious plot to get out of this (no, I''m not his adviser) , it just seems that he's deflecting and hiding.

Going back to the hacking....

All this took several minutes. Why didn't ANYONE step up? Sure, no guns handy but what about cars? Motorcycles? ANY effen thing? Are they "and we" so pussified that "taking action" means phone cameras and complaint departments?

As a certified caveman, I guarantee you if I see someone hacking at someone with a meat cleaver, their wearing Michelins.

The average person doesn't give a crap about others.

I've given first-aid to an elderly person in public before who passed out and people stood around like a bunch of idiots not doing anything while he was struggling to breathe.

No one shows any concern whatsoever to other human beings anymore. They did the same thing in the Tim MacLean case. Whatever happened to showing concern and empathy for others?

Given that a 48 year-old housewife went up to the two of them and had a lengthy conversation, I don't think HA had anything to fear:

Loyau-Kennett, 48, from Cornwall, was one of the first people on the scene after the two Islamists butchered a soldier in Woolwich, south-east London Wednesday. She was photographed by onlookers confronting one of the attackers who was holding a bloodied knife.

Loyau-Kennett was a passenger on a number 53 bus which was travelling past the scene. She jumped off to check the soldier’s pulse.

“Being a cub leader I have my first aid,” she said. “So when I saw this guy on the floor I thought it was an accident. Then I saw the guy was dead and I could not feel any pulse.

“And then when I went up there was this black guy with a revolver and a kitchen knife.

“He had what looked like butcher’s tools and he had a little axe, to cut the bones, and two large knives and he said: ‘Move off the body.’ So I thought: ‘OK, I don’t know what is going on here.’ He was covered with blood. I thought I had better start talking to him before he starts attacking somebody else. I thought these people usually have a message so I said: ’What do you want?’

“I asked him if he did it and he said yes and I said why? And he said because he [the dead man] has killed Muslim people in Muslim countries.

“He said he was a British soldier and I said: ‘Really?’ And he said: ‘I killed him because he killed Muslims and I am fed up with people killing Muslims in Afghanistan. They have nothing to do there.’”

When Loyau-Kennett arrived on the scene the pair of killers were roaming John Wilson Street waiting for police to arrive so they could stage a final confrontation with them.

She said: “I started to talk to him and I started to notice more weapons and the guy behind him with more weapons as well. By then, people had started to gather around.

“So I thought OK, I should keep him talking to me before he noticed everything around him.

“He was not high, he was not on drugs, he was not an alcoholic or drunk. He was just distressed, upset. He was in full control of his decisions and ready to do everything he wanted to do.

“I said: ’Right, now it is only you versus many people, you are going to lose, what would you like to do?’ He said: ‘I would like to stay and fight?’”

Watch that blanket "no one" statement. Some of us still do. In fact, let's make that a bit wider. I have seen people stop on the side of the road trying to help accident victims.

On the other hand, taking action when there is clear and present danger, that's another thing. I don't think that many people will run down someone, even from the safety of their cars, even if they are chopping away with a meat cleaver.

All I can say is that the terrorists are lucky that the football season just finished, because there's absolutely no way that they would have had the balls to do what they did on a Sunday morning near Milwall's pitch.

They would have been strung up from the nearest tree in about thirty seconds.

Greece has an excuse for opposing Islamic insurrection of course.

They've been historically oppressed by Muslims (through the Ottomans) for hundreds of years.

To say nothing of Turkey's illegal occupation of northern Cyrpus that is conveniently never mentioned when the anti-Israel hordes go off on their verbose ranting.

Turkey usually doesn't come up with discussing the state of Israel so why would anyone mention Cyprus when discussing that state?

I guarantee you that if you were there you'd piss your pants.

And I'm suppose to answer that? With mine is bigger then yours banter? I'll guarantee that I would NOT get out of the car to get into a wrestling match with a guy wielding a meat cleaver........and I would guarantee that he would be be wearing a body panel.

There is no conceivable excuse someone chopping away at another human being with a meat cleaver. NONE. So there is no ambiguity of what is happening. Even if the guy just raped his mother, the guy chopping away is a clear and unmistakable danger. So using force is justified.

Of course, not being there and writing about it is easy. On the other hand, some of us have different mind sets of what to do.

So in other words, you say if you criticize one illegal occupation, one illegal blockade, you must critictize all such illegal occupations and illegal blockades?

Yes. Just the same as a paranoid schizophrenic hearing voices.

yeah, that's what was on the tape we saw.

not nearly as in depth as many other "lucid" manifestos of psychos who have murdered far many more people than this guy did.

but again, what's your angle here?

The man is a criminal, will be tried, and will go to jail for a long time.

what do you want us to do in response? go to war against all muslim countries? pull out of all wars against muslim countries? ban people's personal beliefs? profile and limit the rights of muslims?

Absolutely.

Of course I think we all know the Jewish content of the Israeli situation is why that gets attention over the situation where the Islamic state is the oppressor.

All the closet anti-semnites come out in droves when it's the former yet are no where to be seen when a similar situation involving non-Muslims happens to be happening.

I don't know what the answer is - I'm not a rights lawyer, or a specialist in public policy. But it's clear as day that SOMETHING has to be done.

A man was hacked to death in the streets of England in the name of Allah.
