So if we won the trade getting their 20th best prospects and they’re super exciting, their top three prospects must be the second comings of Bonds, McGwire, and Sosa.

So I can understand that the market for a 34 year old SP rental is soft, especially with the Skubal and Peralta moves setting the price.
I can even understand selling Gausman no matter what cause you need more assets in the farm to use as currency to reload in the offseason. My gripe here is that the front office damn sure has a type and while I do love a foot hit tool/obp guy, these guys have zilch power and our system is stocked with this type. Specifically LHH OF4
Granted the alternative is probably an all power lotto ticket with ballooned k rate but still I’d prefer a variety in the system
