Im told the amount of money we need to clear to prevent ourselves from avoiding slipping 10 picks in the draft (unless we pick top 6) is basically unavoidable even if we dumped all of Gaus/Bieber/Springer and ate nothing. Which makes it kinda irritting we ate no money on Gaus

Yeah, they're not getting under the CBA threshold, but they still save the 50% or whatever penalty they had to pay. Would it have been better to eat money to get a better prospect back? Never know what the offers out there were.
