Vladdy leaves with an injury
I thought they got rid of it so how are they allowed to do that?But....I was told that eliminating the shift was going to change everything
Is there anything stopping the 3B from lining up in LF?The old way, nobody wanted to bunt the other way and hope for a single. This way, a few people driving balls into open outfields for doubles and triples would put a stop to it pretty quick, I would think.
At the start of each pitch, teams must have at least two infielders on either side of second base, with all four positioned on the infield dirt. Infielders may not switch positions unless there is a substitution.
Yeah, two OF is going to go pretty badly for guys who get shifted. A lot of them can go the other way in the air. That’s why they were sometimes going with 4OF when that was allowed. The old way, nobody wanted to bunt the other way and hope for a single. There are few moments in my live sports experience that I've enjoyed less than looking up at the clock in the dome and seeing 9:57 in the 7th inning of a game the jays were up or down by more than 3-4 run in.
That or similar has happened a bunch of times over the years
Some games just move, and you don't mind spending the time with them. But yeah, if a random weeknight game starts at 7 and I'm home by 10 or 10:30, that's fantastic. If it's too early, bars are still open to grab another drink.
