Rumours, Innuendos and Flat out B.S.: 2021-22 Edition

If there wasn't the contract situation, I would strongly think about it.

However, Pettersson's got us by the balls if he doesn't want to stay here.

Let's say he doesn't want to stay here, he'll be an RFA in 30 months. He'll get a nice $10M qualifying offer, he'll take it, then he'll hit free agency.

So I would keep Suzuki.
What would “Mister Gorton” say?

“I’d prefer to think positively”

Gorton has to balance eating salary versus age.

That’s how bad it is.

Gorton has to move and do everything possible to put this team back on track

No patch half ass band aids and don’t worry if it’s 2 steps back for 3 forward or pissing off anyone

Retain salary , move vets , overpay draft/development staff , etc...

This is ACL , PCL and torn patella surgery not a walking wounded knee brace

Sure, but I balk at eating 50% of Price’s cap space. That would hurt the rebuild.

no it wouldnt if you are adding prospects, youth and draft picks

Every transaction your netting a piece or more

Lets say Avs choke again and goalies stink in the playoffs

31 is not going to stick around for 4 years with this shit show

A healthy and mentally engaged Price in the summer might net you any combo of Girard, Barron , first rounder , cap filler etc...

Same goes for Petry and Gally .....keep adding to the asset base

Retaining even 10 mil is a spit in the cap bucket since we wont be spending and continue dumping for years

Price won't be moving anywhere if we don't take 50% of his salary.

And the second problem is, is Carey Price good right now? We haven't seen him play in over 6 months.

Edmonton & Colorado are the logical destinations, especially at $5.25M. Colorado has Justin Barron that I like a lot, Edmonton has Xavier Bourgault.
